Q. I ordered a 40 volt battery and a 36 volt showed up?
A. Husqvarna markets this part number both ways. The chargers used for this battery supply the battery with 40 volts DC. These batteries use used to supply devices it is installed in 36 volts DC. This is the same as your car battery works. Car batteries are 12 volts DC but the next time you turn on your car look and read the dashboard and accelerate down the street. As your RPM increase the voltage will increase past 12V. You will see the voltmeter is supplying the car with 14 volts! We live on Earth, and the laws of physics are supply resistance in electrical devices. This means if you only put 36 volts into the battery it would not supply you with 36 volts back out. What I am trying to tell you is man made this product and not God. You received the correct product and this battery is designed to be charged on a 40 volt charging station. Tip: This is a Lithium-ion battery which means it is best if you do not allow it to freeze. Do not store outside in your service truck if the temp falls below 32 degrees F.
