I bought this unit for carpet/upholstery/Tile& Grout cleaning. I was undecided about whether to go propane or with this unit. For transport safety reasons I decided to go with the NorthStar. I really disliked the fact I would have to transport a propane tank either in the van or mount a tank in the frame. I will admit this unit is heavy! But, mounted permanently this isn't going to be a problem except for lifting it in for the initial installation. With a carpet wand this thing is great! However, a drawback is once you move into a spinner for tile cleaning or any type of upholstery tool, it's not enough to trigger the burner. I've got around this by creating a water by-pass so the draw is greater and it trips the switch for the heater. I've found this unit seems to be very economical and doesn't use the fuel you might think it would. I do dislike the fact the unit needs to be flushed with water before using it, to purge itself of discolored water. I suppose this is the difference in $$ between a steel coil and stainless steel. Perhaps for the cost difference I can put up with that inconvenience.
