The valve will automatically sense the rise in temperature and discharge some of the hot fluid causing the cooler fluid to enter the system and the valve will then close. The total elapsed time from when the valve opens until it closes is 2 to 5 seconds. Close temp 140 degrees F+-. Max psi 125. Max discharge rate: 2.5 gpm. Made in the USA! Extends the life of your pump and all internal parts! Internal O-ring seal - Viton External O-ring seal - Buna Stainless steel spring also sold as 458007, 8.723-943.0, 87239430 Why Nylon? Nylon can handle temperatures up to 470 degree before it starts to melt. That is almost a 3 to 1 service factor and works fine in this application
