Genuine SHURflo fittings, make for an easy seal with SHURflo pumps, because instead of just sealing on the threads, it has a flare or 'bulge' on the inside, that seals with a recess on the pump housing itself. It allows for good sealing, even with less than perfect alignment, without having to be cranked very tight, which is a good thing, as my pump housing is plastic.
