Flooded Furniture Cleaning and Restoration   Can furniture that has been under water be saved and cleaned?  Can furniture that is not only been under submerged in mud be cleaned?  What about the wood, springs, foam, can they be cleaned and sanitized?    The answer is YES.  If you own some furniture and you do not want to through it away, you can have us restore it for you.  We can clean the wood, springs, foam, fabric all the way through the furniture. On September 7th 1988 a storm stalled over San Antonio Taylor Texas and dumped over 23" of rain and then in September 1998 San Antonio and south Texas receive over 13" inches of rain.  In each of these instances the local rivers rose over 50 ft allowing unwanted water into may homes.   FEMA was telling everybody to throw the furniture away and most people did. Steam Brite on the other hand, was asked to restore hundreds of sofas, chairs, and recliners with the task of cleaning all the inside and outside of these goods that our customer either felt was too valuable to throw away or did not have the money to replace this furniture.   We saved 100% of every piece of furniture that was dropped off at our location! How is this possible?  We first had our customer sign a waiver that not guarantee could be made on the results for what we where about to do had never been done before.  We took a 350,000 BTU, 250 degree F live steam generator and applied 2 gallons a minute at 1000 psi of high pressure live steam on each piece of furniture for an hour!  This means that over 100 gallons of steam was processed through each piece of furniture.  I can assure you that there is no level of bacteria that can survive that!  This steam was sent through and around every crack, crevice, foam, spring, wood,... It is very odd to see this.  It looks like we are destroying the furniture because it is not a delicate service.  Once we where done with the steam re-soaking, we sucked the water out of the fabric and foam.  Each piece was placed in an environment where 100 degree F air at 5% RH (relative humidity) air blown over it for 3 days.  Each piece is inspected daily for touch up during the drying process.   We found out that it does not matter if you have so much mud on the furniture you cannot see the color of it.  This service removes everything.  We performed this service to dry clean only fabrics too.  Only fabrics with rayon in them showed a small amount of buckling along the welting.   While not all furniture is worth this service you might own a piece you do not want to just toss in the trash.  Even though we are shooting for 100% recovery, it is still a not guaranteed service.  If you decide to do this, you will have to pay for the procedure and not the results.   What does this cost? $50 per liner foot.  For example a 7 ft long sofa X $50 = $350 A 3 ft wide recliner is $150    We have limited optional pick up and delivery so you might have to arraign this on your own.  Our pick up and delivery is limited to a pick up truck so it would have to be a small order.  If you have a house full of goods, we would recommend a moving company.  Our pick and delivery is $70 per trip (2 people)  This is listed above as Estimated Shipping Cost.
