I have found that even though many manufactures state that you do not have to use distilled water nor do you have to descale vapor machines, you should if you want to keep them in top working order. Also heating elements last longer when they are not exposed to air. In other words, this means if I stop and fill the machine more often, I would be less likely to break a heating element. Furthermore I see customer using these machines on 15 amp breakers instead of 20 amp breakers, or using the machine on an extension cords. Both these two issues further damage heating elements prematurely.
